Sometimes you’re given something dope to make whatever you want of it— a blank check and a Montblanc. Sitting on a beach is a perfect example of one of life’s empty canvases, except it gets straight Pollocked in pink gel pen by Instagram girls who insist on shooting their feet. “We Can’t Be Friends” is one that’s hard to fuck up. You can set this to a slo-mo video of getting a haircut and still feel the clippings run down your neck. You could romanticize any banality with this track on top and be a god for three and a half minutes. Look out a rainy window or something if you need to complete your basic-ass internal cinematics, but if you photograph yourself doing it, we can’t be friends.
